Top Project Award Winners

At our recent Safety Round-ups we recognized Top Projects that went above and beyond to get the job done. Thank you to all of our crews that put in hard work every day and work safely!

McGuire and Hester

Microsoft SVC BP 2C Site Utility & Rainwater Install
This project is a Top Project Award because it exceeded the initial gross profit expectations, more than doubled the anticipated revenue, included challenging and unfamiliar work with the blackwater installation, and didn’t have any lost time injuries or accidents with over 75,000 labor hours. This was truly a team effort and special thanks need to go out to every employee and department between McGuire and Hester and Harbor Linx that were involved in this project.

Sierra Point Phase 2
M&H provided value to Hathaway and the project ownership by continuing to work with the designers and authorities having jurisdiction to provide constructability input in the design as well as value engineering throughout the iterations of drawings that were received. M&H maintained a great relationship with all parties, including the City of Brisbane to make sure that the work took place with minimal rework and/or punch list items.

Park Point Landscape
The job is a shining example that ‘Together we build things right.’ This job was successful due to the contributions from all groups and teams at M&H. Big thanks to Bob Osterman on landscape, Eric Herzer for irrigation, Mike Amaral for maintenance, Lincoln Morrill on grading, and Randy Somerday for running point on the package deal. Strong team effort paid off on this one!

Paso Verde K-8 School LLB – Increment #2
This project consisted of M&H’s own forces performing all of the grading, paving, and underground scopes of work on an approximately 40-acre site. With the numerous challenges M&H faced along the way, including the beginning of COVID-19, the many protocols that had to be put in place prior to beginning work each day, and a GC who relied on the trade contractors to work it out amongst each other, we were able to execute the work outstandingly.  For all these reasons, this project was chosen for the top project award.

Casey-Fogli

TransMontaigne Tank Foundations
Our crews were challenged with limited on-site access. In order to pour concrete on-site, two pump trucks were utilized: a 47 M pump truck feeding into the hopper of a 32 M pump truck that accessed the site. Concrete delivery traffic flowed well and the deliveries arrived on time throughout the pour. To enhance safety, wire mesh was placed above the surface of the tank foundation while pouring.
