January 2022
Strategy Update
As the new year rolls in, I think of all the changes Government, organizations, and people make on January 1 since a new year means a new start. A whole slew of new laws goes into effect, and many will affect how we work and live. Organizations will implement changes hoping the new structure, policies, or procedures will make for more efficiencies and ultimately a more successful company.
People will make new year’s resolutions to make themselves a better person, but let’s be honest, most resolutions will be broken by the date you read this.
Harbor Linx Business Support (HLBS) is specifically set up to manage these changes. Our Legal, Safety, and HR departments are on top of the new laws and regulations, ensuring our companies are in compliance and a safer place to work. The contracts, IT, and accounting departments are constantly working with the company Presidents striving to implement new software, policies, and procedures to make workflow more efficient and process data into truly useful information. Finally, the marketing department drives our vehicle of communications to our employees (they put together this wonderful newsletter), customers, vendors, and subcontractors. They have already changed the companies’ websites to reflect the new management structure of 2022.
Finally, there are many changes to the people of HLBS. Many HLBS team members will be taking on different duties and procedures in 2022. For example, the accounting team of Casey Fogli is moving to Alameda and will be employees of HLBS. After working with Rob Doud since 1993 as his CPA, Controller and CFO, I am tasked with filling his shoes as the President of HLBS. Rob has done many great things for this company and its employees. When I first met Rob, the company was struggling to make payroll. Through his and Mike Hester’s leadership, the company has grown to what it is today. Even though Rob is stepping up to President of the Harbor Linx, Inc, our Parent company to concentrate more on M&A Strategy and real estate investments, I am grateful he will be down the hall to bounce ideas off of.
I am looking forward to meeting the demands and challenges of this new position. I am grateful for the helpful and loyal team of HLBS, as I wouldn’t be able to do anything without their support.
Let’s all work together to make 2022 a success!
