4815 – City of Davis Wake Forest & Oxford Circle Roadway Reconstruction
Start Date: July 2022
Finish Date: February 2023
Final Contract Value: $2.2 MM
The project had a very aggressive schedule: 60 working days to complete the project. The base bid of the project had to be completed within the first 30 working days of the contract, which was when most of the students were on summer break. After the base bid completion, extra work was added, extending the actual contract completion date.
Since the project was in a UC Davis housing area, it required a lot of coordination with the City, the University Student housing, public transportation, and the garbage service (Recology).

4646 – EBMUD San Ramon Pumping Station
Start Date: October 2021
Finish Date: October 2022
Final Contract Value: $1.4MM
Work consisted of excavation and dewatering around the perimeter of a pumping plant to install drainage improvements. Installing a 6 -inch perforated drain 12′ deep around the perimeter of the pumping plant, and installing two sump pumps in a new maintenance vault. Our sub also waterproofed the exterior walls of the pumping plant and re-grouted cold joints in the pumping plant floor slab. This job had several challenges: The work area was extremely tight, we were working on a high priority facility, and there was substantially more groundwater than antificapted. Our competitors warned us that we could not do it for the price we bid it at! Despite these challenges, our team finished the work on time and under budget, all the while keeping the crew safe!

4577 & 4588 – Stanford History Corner
Start Date: December 2020
Finish Date: January 2023
Final Contract Value: $6.1 MM
Work consisted of improvements to a large courtyard inside of Stanford’s historic Main Quad, which had to be performed at night due to proximity to classrooms. Since the working area was incredibly small, access and equipment size was very limited.
This project took all of M&H’s expertise from years of working at Stanford to complete. Every step of the way we assisted them with design revisions, value-engineering, and the specific crews needed to achieve their vision. We have had experience working safely at night on Campus and continued that with this project – No safety incidents reported on this project.
