Closter Park Revitalization Project

by Alexis Olsen

We are proud to announce the completion of the Closter Park Revitalization Project in Salinas, California. Working in partnership with the City of Salinas, our team helped transform one of the community's most cherished parks into a modern, inclusive destination designed to serve residents of all ages for generations to come.

McGuire and Hester delivered a comprehensive revitalization that enhances recreation, accessibility, and community gathering spaces throughout the park. Guided by the City's Parks, Recreation, and Libraries Master Plan and shaped by extensive community input, the improvements reflect a shared vision for creating a vibrant public space that celebrates the people and culture of Salinas.

The completed park features a wide range of new amenities, including upgraded restroom and concession facilities, an outdoor amphitheater for community performances, a lighted fitness loop with exercise equipment, renovated baseball fields, a modern playground, and a new skate plaza. Additional improvements include shaded picnic areas, outdoor kitchen and barbecue facilities, gazebos, horseshoe pits, a flexible event space for farmers markets and community gatherings, and interactive public art installations. Accessibility enhancements, new landscaping, and the preservation of existing community memorials further strengthen the park's role as a welcoming destination for everyone.

The revitalization represents a significant investment in the health, recreation, and quality of life of the Salinas community. The completed project provides residents with expanded opportunities for outdoor activity, cultural events, youth sports, and neighborhood gatherings in a safe and inviting environment.

We are honored to have partnered with the City of Salinas on this meaningful project and are proud to help deliver a revitalized community space that will create lasting memories and strengthen community connections for years to come.
