On June 7th, teammates, friends, and family members came together at the Bladium in Alameda for one of our favorite new traditions: the second annual Builders Cup! A company-wide, co-ed soccer tournament, the Builders Cup brings employees from all corners of McGuire and Hester together for a little friendly competition and a lot of team spirit. What started as a fun idea from the Culture Committee has grown into something more: a day to connect, compete, and simply enjoy each other’s company. This year’s Builders Cup reminded us why we show up, not just for the work, but for the people we get to do it with.

Four teams took the field this year, and the games were quick, competitive, and full of good spirits. From the beginning to the end, the energy was high and the teamwork was even higher. Whether players were veterans from last year or new faces joining for the first time, everyone brought their best. The tournament wasn’t just about winning, it was about showing up for each other, building connections across departments, and celebrating the spirit that makes McGuire and Hester more than just a workplace.

Although the game came to an end, the celebration continued at Almanac Beer Co., where teammates turned into storytellers, reliving close calls and winning goals over cold drinks and good company.

Huge thanks to everyone who played, volunteered, cheered, and helped bring this day to life. The Builders Cup isn’t just about soccer, it’s about showing up for each other, building community, and making space for fun along the way. Cheers to our 2nd Annual Builder’s Cup!
