Community: Brews, Trees, WiOPS, and Shriners!

Cypress Mandela Celebration | Fundraiser

Our team concluded Construction Inclusion Week by hosting the annual Cypress Mandela Training Center Fundraiser. This legendary organization provides construction pre-apprenticeship training to men and women in need of accessing higher liveable wage careers. Through the efforts of many community and industry leaders including Mayor Libby Schaff, Mike Hester (CMTC Board President), and many more, the event was a success with much-needed funding raised towards life-changing work in our community!

Corks, Forks, Rhythm & Brews

The Alameda Boys and Girls Club’s mission is to inspire and enable all youth, especially those who need us most, to realize their full potential as productive, caring, and responsible citizens. This is a cause that Rob Doud is passionate about. He has served on the Board of Directors for the club for many years and is part of the planning team that puts together Corks, Forks, Rhythm & Brews, Alameda’s annual Food & Drink festival featuring local wineries, breweries, restaurants, and spirits where all proceeds support the Alameda Boys & Girls Club. The McGuire and Hester Foundation is a proud sponsor of the event and many of our employees showed up to show support and enjoy the great food and drinks on a beautiful October Saturday afternoon.

Planting Trees in East Oakland

Our team rolled up their sleeves and did an amazing job planting 16 trees on the median near the intersection of 105th and San Leandro Streets in East Oakland. Check out the video below to see the process and read more about it in this article!

Sacramento Youth Football Shrine Bowl Fundraiser

From October 5th to October 15th we collected Safety Buck donations for Kyleigh Muhlbach, daughter of our Project Manager Scott Muhlbach, who was nominated to represent Nevada Union Jr Miners in this year’s youth Shrine Bowl which benefits Ben Ali Shriners of Sacramento.

We helped the Shriners and Kyleigh Muhlbach meet and exceed her $1,000 goal with $1,426 in Safety Buck donations! Thank you to everyone who donated!

Thank you to all who help me reach my goal of $1,000 for Shriners hospital. In fact I was able to make more than my goal thanks to everyone who helped. I’m so glad I got to donate over $2,200 to Shriners children’s hospital with the help from you. The money that I raised will go to a kid in need and to pay for whatever that child needs. Thank you for your help.

Sincerely,

Kyleigh Muhlbach

WiOPS July Event hosted by McGuire and Hester

One of our top highlights was hosting the WiOPS event in July, in which author Joelle Jackson shared insights found in her book “Unlock Your Conscious Leadership.” Good company, food, and drink by the Bay while listening to Joelle’s passionate and knowledgeable presentation on the truths of self-reflection and empowerment found in her book.

“Huge thank you to Joelle Jackson and McGuire & Hester for hosting such an inspiring event!
We got a glimpse of the key steps to unlocking our true potential.

Thank you to the members who came out and hopefully y’all got the free book and wine glass.”

WiOPS also gave us a shout-out on their social media pages for supporting the organization. Check it out here.
