We ❤️ Our Communities

Friends of the Alameda Animal Shelter

Circa 26, through our partnership with SrmErnst, we donated this property to the Friends of Alameda Animal Shelter. This property is located on North Loop Rd, in Harbor Bay Business Park, and will become the future home of the FAAS Adoption and Community Center. This was part of our North Loop real estate investment. Circa’s ownership percentage was 13.5%.

Sac Builders Exchange CIEF Program

Championed by our Sacramento Team, McGuire and Hester recently attended a program day, through our sponsorship with Sac Builders Exchange CIEF Program, at Sutter High School, where we got to talk and teach students about the trades, as well as host a job site tour of our E. Main Street Improvement Project to a group of 20 students. It was an awesome opportunity to showcase to these students what we do every day!

CF&T Gold Country Wildlife Donation Job

CF&T donated a pump to lay the foundation for the new large mammal enclosure for the Gold Country Wildlife Rescue! We pumped the concrete foundation around 12-foot-high steel posts that will make up the fenced walls of the 50’x150′ large mammal enclosure, and also poured the concrete floors for the den areas. Thank you Daniel Fink for donating your time to run the pump!

McGuire and Hester’s involvement in this donation job came at the request of our friend Cristina Polk, a Project Executive with Turner.  She along with Kelly Leanos at Deacon Construction spearheaded the project. Both Cristina and Kelly are members of Crew East Bay, an organization that works to advance women as influential leaders in the commercial real estate industry by providing educational resources, recognition, and opportunities to build professional relationships. In partnership with the Girl Scouts, Crew East Bay enlisted McGuire and Hester to excavate the site for a 12’x24’ greenhouse to be installed at the Holbrook Elementary School in Concord. After our excavation, the EB Crew team installed an underground piping system to control the temperature in the greenhouse. The Girl Scouts came out for a visit and Neal Wilden and Nate Fox were honored to give them a job site tour. Happy to do our part to inspire the next generation of women leaders in real estate… and perhaps construction!

HLBS President during the week & EV Ambassador over the weekend!

Louie Roessler has been volunteering his time being an “EV Ambassador” on weekends to show his 100% electric Ford Mustang Mach E at EV Car Shows organized by Acterra.org and rideanddriveclean.org. These shows are a great opportunity for those curious about EV cars to see many models up close and talk to owners about the benefits and drawbacks of driving electric. Not only is driving electric cheaper than gas, but it also helps reduce your carbon footprint. He has been an EV resource in zoom webinars and assisted in conducting a study on the reliability of charging stations in the Bay Area. With millions of tax dollars slated to be invested in charging stations, the non-profits Louie is involved in want to make sure charging companies have standards requiring their stations are maintained and reliable.

If you are interested in attending an EV Car Show or have questions about driving electric, please contact Louie!

The Crucible’s Fire & Light Soirée

The Crucible in West Oakland has over nineteen different art departments, including welding, blacksmithing, glass flameworking, and more. They offer art classes to aspiring artists and as part of celebrating and empowering Oakland, they also offer free programming, scholarships, and paid leadership opportunities for youth and adults who live locally and otherwise could not participate.

McGuire and Hester was proud to sponsor their Annual Fire and Light Soiree. All funds raised went towards ensuring that young people have access to The Crucible’s Industrial Arts Education Programs, regardless of family income. If you’d like to know more about The Crucible, check out their website below or ask Zeydi Gutierrez, as she serves on their Board of Directors.
