McGuire and Hester proudly participated in a pivotal visit to our nation’s capital, joining the Oakland Metro Chamber of Commerce on an important advocacy mission. The 12-member delegation included Bruce Daseking and Zeydi Gutierrez, representing McGuire and Hester in critical discussions with California’s elected officials and key federal agency leaders.

Addressing Oakland’s Critical Issues

This diverse group of business, community, and civic leaders came together to address some of Oakland’s most pressing challenges. Topics included:

  • Streamlining housing approvals to create pathways for more affordable and accessible housing.
  • Increasing support for unsheltered neighbors and addressing the homelessness crisis with compassionate and effective solutions.
  • Securing additional funding for infrastructure to ensure the sustainability and growth of our city.
  • Enhancing workforce development programs to empower small businesses and strengthen our community’s economic foundation.

Meaningful Connections with National Leaders

During the visit, the delegation met with prominent figures, including:

  • HUD Acting Secretary Adrianne Todman
  • Senator Alex Padilla
  • Congresswoman Barbara Lee
