July 2022
It’s hard to believe the year is half over; I guess the age-old adage still rings true, “Time flies when you’re having fun.”
With the team we have assembled, I truly feel we are well-positioned to navigate the current economic headwinds that inflation, rising interest rates, and the war in Ukraine have put before us, not to mention the lingering effects of Covid-19. Throughout my career, during challenging times like these, I’ve always stressed the importance of staying true to our mission and remaining laser-focused on our goals.
Today, our goal is to grow our service area while expanding market share throughout Northern California. As always, our mission is to provide a first-class service with well-maintained equipment operated by a highly trained, safe, and dependable team.
The dedication and commitment of this team are nothing short of remarkable. Roughly six months ago, we expanded into the Sacramento market. Thank you, McGuire and Hester (Mike Brann), for the opportunity to rent us a slice of the West Sacramento yard; it’s a great fit. With this type of expansion comes opportunity. Fortunately for the team, we have a concrete pump operator (Daniel Fink) who had aspirations of sales and marketing that happened to live in Roseville. When Daniel isn’t out running the concrete pump, he is on the phone or the road knocking on doors and pursuing new clients. And yes, if you were wondering, Daniel, is my son.
Another one of our amazing teammates is Armando Garibay. Armando is a long-time CF&T team member and our 61 Meter boom operator. Armando also spends time helping with our marketing efforts. Whether it’s on the jobsite or on the phone making calls to Superintendents and Foreman, Armando is always trying to drum up business or help facilitate the next meet and greet for Al Valdez and me.
I am happy to report that all of these efforts are moving the needle as we are having success adding new Civil and Commercial GCs while bringing old customers back to CF&T. This is a great example of how “we are coming together as one team in the service of creating more opportunity for everyone at the company.”
Stay safe and be well,
Art Fink
