MH Operations Update

April 2022

We are starting the 2nd quarter of 2022 in a very strong position with an incredible team in place and a healthy backlog of work to build. Although no one knows what curveballs COVID might have in store for our industry, it does appear the worse of it is behind us (knock on wood) and everyone is learning how to adapt to the “new normal”.

2022 started with the University of California San Francisco (UCSF) Parnassus New Hospital Team awarding McGuire and Hester what most likely will be the largest single project that we have ever had (~$70m). This project is currently taking a lot of management time working with UCSF and the design team on plans to reshape the Campus for decades to come. While the majority of the current work is potholing for future improvements, in August we will have more field activities happening and estimate to have approximately 30 people working on the project by the end of the year. All in all, we expect to be working on this project for the next 8 to 10 years.

Our Sacramento Region is also getting busy. We have one of our largest backlogs for the area and it consists of many projects which help keep our crews working without the concern that one missing/delayed permit will derail our momentum. We have contracts with the City of Rocklin, City of Sacramento, City of Woodland, UC Davis, Genentech, as well as multiple projects with Otto Construction, S+B James Construction among others. These projects are going to keep us extremely busy in 2022 and we already have a large project with Forgen on the books where the majority of the field work will happen in 2023.

As you can see, the future is extremely bright and we are so excited about the team we have in place and are always looking to add individuals with the right attitude and skill set. It is an understatement to say “Together we build things right”.

Thanks again for being part of our TEAM.
