MH Event and Award Highlights

A look back at some of the events we hosted and awards we received within the last quarter.

Girls Inc. of the Island City

This quarter we were recognized with a “Bold Partner” Award from Girls Inc. of the Island City, an organization with a mission to inspire all girls to be strong (healthy), smart (educated), and bold (independent) through innovative programs, activities, and advocacy.

In July Amanda Chaudhary (Marketing Manager at Harbor Linx) and Dulce Bugarin ( Senior P.E. at McGuire and Hester) spoke at Girls Inc.’s “Empower Hour” as part of their Eureka! Program which aims to encourage teens to explore careers in STEM through inspirational real-life stories from successful women in those fields.

Cypress Mandela Career Fair

In July we participated in Cypress Mandela’s Career Fair. This organization is turning out some of the finest team members our industry has seen. We had a blast showcasing our equipment and chatting about the value of careers in construction.

“As an alumni of Cypress Mandela & past employee of M&H (12th street bridge, Highland hospital), I love to see this. Teaching the new generation all the tricks.”

WiOPS Event

In July we hosted an event for WiOPS: Women in Operations, an organization committed to the advancement of women in construction through networking opportunities, mentorship and guidance, education, resources, and so much more. It was a privilege to host an event at our office. Masks are now back on, and events may be virtual for a while but don’t let that stop you from getting involved. Check out the NorCal chapter events here.

🎉 Congrats to Amanda Chaudhary for being the WiOPS “Member of the Month” for August 2021.
