Harbor Bay Emergency Project
Crews responded to emergency repairs at Harbor Bay in Alameda after significant storm damage. The work included selective tree trimming, installation of rock slope protection along the shoreline, and trail repairs as directed by the City of Alameda.
UCSF: Hellen Diller Hospital (Parnassus)
Progress continues at UCSF in early June, with crews advancing multiple scopes including mass and structural excavation. Work also includes dewatering pile cap excavations due to naturally occurring groundwater and coordinating the installation of electrical duct banks.
City of Davis Emergency Project
Over Presidents Day weekend, McGuire and Hester responded to an emergency in Davis involving two failed manholes on the City’s 21″ and 48″ trunk mains. Working alongside City crews, the team quickly implemented bypass systems and is now actively replacing the damaged infrastructure under emergency repair protocols.

Oakland Zoo Paving
Our crews recently completed an AC pathway repair near the Chimp Exhibit, removing and replacing approximately 4,500 SF of asphalt with 80 tons of new HMA. The work was coordinated with a scheduled Gondola maintenance shutdown, allowing for safe access while a large section of the zoo remained temporarily closed to the public.
Natomas Reach A Levee Project
McGuire and Hester recently supported critical flood control and infrastructure improvements for the Natomas Reach A Levee Improvements project in Sacramento. Work included utility relocations, drainage enhancements, and pump plant upgrades—strengthening public safety and long-term resilience along the levee corridor.
Buchanan Street Mall Renovation
McGuire and Hester is helping transform Buchanan Street Mall into a vibrant, connected community space in San Francisco’s Western Addition. This renovation integrates green infrastructure, sewer improvements, and enhanced lighting to support recreation, cultural expression, and stormwater management—fostering unity, safety, and opportunity across all five blocks.
