Kim Carone: Leading with Legacy and Heart

Surprising Fact: Aside from growing up on a ranch and living a western lifestyle, Kim was a wildland firefighter, running her own crews and engines while proudly serving as a union member.

Memorable Day on the Job: Being asked to lead the Safety and Risk Management Department was a profound moment, reflecting the company’s trust in her to build a team responsible for the care and safety of employees, their families, and the public.

Why Construction? As a fifth-generation construction worker, Kim’s roots run deep in the industry, with family members serving as engineers, operators, and more. She views construction as her calling.

If Not Safety? Kim would pursue a career in emergency medicine, working with either humans or animals.

Life Lesson: Strong relationships matter most, reminding us of our shared humanity and the importance of responding well to mistakes.

Relaxation: Spending time on her ranch with her family and animals, especially enjoying evenings exercising the horses.

Dream Destination: Exploring the American Southwest’s historical sites, such as Mesa Verde and the Canyonlands, via horseback.
