The 2026 ASC Regions 6 & 7 Student Competition in Reno brought together construction students, educators, and industry professionals for another year of competition, recruiting, and connection. McGuire and Hester was proud to support the event and continue building relationships with the programs helping prepare the next generation of construction professionals.

Supporting Our University Partners
This year, we had the opportunity to support four university programs: Cal Poly, San Jose State, Cal State East Bay, and Chico State. McGuire and Hester sponsored and coached teams from Cal Poly, San Jose State, and Cal State East Bay, while continuing our support of Chico State’s construction management department.
Each program represented itself well throughout the competition. The preparation, professionalism, and competitive spirit demonstrated by the students reflected the hard work they put in leading up to Reno, and we were proud to be there supporting them.

Connecting with Future Talent
The career fair was another highlight of the week, giving our team the chance to meet students, learn more about their interests, and share what a career at McGuire and Hester can look like. The strong turnout and engagement made it a successful recruiting day and another valuable opportunity to connect with future industry talent.

A special thank you goes to the McGuire and Hester employees who volunteered their time to coach, recruit, and support the students throughout the event. Their involvement helps strengthen our university partnerships while giving students the opportunity to learn directly from professionals working in the industry.
Events like ASC Reno are an important part of how we stay connected with students and the construction programs we have built relationships with over the years. We appreciate everyone who helped make this year’s competition another successful experience and look forward to continuing to support these future construction leaders.
